Right now I have been inspired to work on pieces that reflect my surroundings and the current season. I’ve recently moved to a different location that is completely different from my past residence. My new home is inspiring to me every day. Rolling hills, thick forests and beautiful wild life cradle the landscape and the roadsides. I have been always curious and wondrous about fairy rings. What are they? Are they made by fairies? I did a google search to figure out the look and characteristics of a fairy ring. What I found was basically a miniature version of mysterious crop circles in fields and forests. How did they get there? Through the many legends and folklore of this fascinating occurrence; fairy rings are believed to be gateways into fairy and elfin worlds. They also may be a place where fairies, pixies or elves dance under the harvest sky celebrating their seasons and holidays. In “September’s Fairy Ring”, the fairy September is creating her fairy ring deep within a forest. She is crouched down ready to be transported back to her realm and home. The golden wisps surround the fairy ring opening the gateway. The forest is lush, as the trees look dark and twisted. The leaves are slowly changing from a rich green to a bright sage transitioning into the fall season above her. The serious look on September’s face reflects the urgency of her journey home. The fable of fairy rings is that once you spot a fairy or elf, they might reappear and can be captured. Are fairy rings real? We will never know until we unlock the secret ourselves.
